In spite of our tranquil settting, Bickley Mill is also just a short distance from many of the best places to visit in Devon.  The English Riviera of Torquay is just 15 minutes away; the colourful market town of Totnes is also within a short drive, along with the wide open spaces of Dartmoor and top Devon attractions such as Paignton Zoo.

National Trust Properties in South Devon

Several beautifully maintained heritage sites provide wonderful days for visitors within just a short drive. With stately premises, romantic woodlands and a great deal of history, Greenway is one of Devon's best loved places to visit for Agatha Christie fans. It was here that the Christie family spent many happy summers and the great lady would read her latest mysteries to guests.

Bradley Manor is another scenic stately home bursting with character and and grounds so pretty the visitor feels like they have stepped back in time. Or for an equally enchanting trip into the past, Compton Castle is a medieval site with plenty of things to see and connections with hostorical figures including Sir Walter Raleigh.

The South Hams

With miles of unspoiled coast, quiet coves and some of Devon's prettiest seaside towns, the South Hams are also with easy reach of Bickley Mill. Towns like Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are worth browsing on route, but perhaps the real highlight of the area is the beautiully varied coastline, much loved for walking, sailing and sea fishing. For golfing breaks in Devon, there are several superb courses little more than a tee shot from our location. Dainton Park Golf Club is the nearest, with a splendid course and a welcoming, progressive ethos. Also nearby is Torquay Golf Course.
